Question: Digital camera with excellent sound quality?
(Posted by: blinky on 2010-02-07 18:48:24)
I have an Olympus Fe- 330 and the pictures on it are pretty good i guess but when I try to take videos the sound on it is always muffled! so i want a good digital camera that can take hd videos with really good sound.. like for example at a concert.. I want to be able to hear the songs the way they were played.. or where if i was close to big amplifiers and instruments.. i dont want any muffleness xD i just want the sound to be crystal- clear. If anyone has a camera like this i'd like to know.. i mean from personal experience.. not just reviews from the internet. thanks!!! :D |

Your question is detailed and makes sense! That helps.... You could call Olympus regarding the "muffled " result. Better yet you sound very particular and detail minded. I can't imagine that you would happy with anything less than a video camera. However if the concert people "police " video camera usage or rather bar video cameras. Maybe someone on this forum can help you with a still camera that would fit the bill. That sentence just reminded me of Canon's Powershot SX-20 camera. the main difference between the SX-20 and its previous model is "enhance " video. |

You are setting yourself up for a BIG letdown. There are only a couple of cameras that allow for an external microphone, and they are DSLR's costing over $1,500 just for the body of the camera, let alone lenses and that microphone. If you want concert video, buy a real video camera that allows external microphone connections. Almost anything worth using will have this. You can get a decent mic for another $100 or so, and that will improve the sound a lot over what you are getting now... but not like you think it will. The only way to get quality sound out of a concert is to run your audio through the mixing board, not with a microphone in the balcony. |
