Posted by: selina_555 on 2010-02-06, 15:57:35 Yes you CAN turn it off, but perhaps you shouldn't - I find it rather useful to warn me about blown out areas. P.S. Ever considered reading your manual? There is a reason why you have it, and you would have known the answer to this question already if you had read it. You will also learn a LOT of other stuff about your camera.

  

Posted by: Pooky on 2010-02-06, 15:36:52 It's warning you that the area is blown out, on very bright area. You can turn it off. Look through the menu for "highlight " setting, I believe.
